In a forgotten, fog-shrouded cemetery, an elderly groundskeeper stumbles on a lonely little girl and her cat sitting in the darkness. They swap stories and find they have things in common, like caring for the graves and animals that live there, but when the old man is encouraged to tell her a scary tale, Batrisha doesn’t realise it is his own tragic story. In turn, the ghost’s poor eyesight prevents him from realising she is a vampire.
The bold, decoratively-inked images are lovingly styled after vintage ghost comic books and pulp illustrations. The story is told in verse through the use of silent movie title cards.
